Central Union high school appoints Gabriel Ponce as its new athletic Director.

El Centro, CA – Central Union high school has appointed Gabriel Ponce as its new Athletic Director, marking a significant shift in the school's sports program management. Ponce, who recently left Holtville High School, steps into the role with a promise to rejuvenate the athletic department after the previous director, Joshua Wise, was criticized for a perceived lack of enthusiasm and engagement.

Ponce, a seasoned athlete with a rich sports background, brings a wealth of experience to the position. He played under the guidance of Coach Rookie Pena at Mayville State University, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of competitive sports. His track record and dedication have positioned him as a strong candidate to drive Centrals athletic programs forward.

In his new role, Ponce is committed to maintaining and enhancing the prestige of the school’s sports programs. He plans to ensure that coaches are well-equipped with the necessary resources to continue their winning ways. “Our goal is to keep this powerhouse program thriving and ensure that every athlete has the support they need to excel,” Ponce stated.
