El Centro, CA – Central Union high school has appointed Gabriel Ponce as its new Athletic Director, marking a significant shift in the school's sports program management. Ponce, who recently left Holtville High School, steps into the role with a promise to rejuvenate the athletic department after the previous director, Joshua Wise, was criticized for a perceived lack of enthusiasm and engagement.
Ponce, a seasoned athlete with a rich sports background, brings a wealth of experience to the position. He played under the guidance of Coach Rookie Pena at Mayville State University, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of competitive sports.
