Steppers Kicks Hosts Second Annual Back-to-School Giveaway in Brawley

On August 9, 2024, Steppers Kicks in Brawley held its second annual back-to-school giveaway, providing essential school supplies and a day of fun for local K-12 students. The event, designed to give back to the community, saw children lining up to receive backpacks filled with school supplies, ensuring they’re prepared for the upcoming school year.

Before the distribution began, kids enjoyed a range of activities, including basketball and various games. Hotdogs and drinks were provided, making it a festive atmosphere for all who attended. In addition to school supplies, Steppers Kicks also gave away free shoes to some of the children, further demonstrating their commitment to giving back to the community.

Brothers Jamal and Latrell Thomas, the founders of Steppers Kicks, were inspired to start their business due to their shared passion for sneakers. “We always had a lot of shoes, so we just wanted to build a store,” said Jamal Thomas. “We’re just trying to give back to the community,” Thomas added, reflecting on their mission to make quality footwear accessible to everyone.

This back-to-school event was a meaningful way for Steppers Kicks to fulfill that mission, supporting and uplifting the youth of Brawley while reinforcing their dedication to community service.
