Brawley Police Department apprehend suspect in homicide case; On going investing
BRAWLEY, CALIFORNIA, April 22, 2024 - The Brawley Police Department announced today the arrest of Rodrigo Flores Gomez (35) in connection with a homicide case stemming from a domestic violence incident.
Authorities responded to a call on April 20, 2024, at approximately 12:40 a.m. reporting a potential murder in the 600 block of Gilmore St. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, Gomez, and initiated an investigation. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found unconscious inside a vehicle nearby. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Pioneers Memorial Hospital.
Following witness testimonies and evidence gathered at the scene, Gomez was apprehended by Brawley Police and subsequently charged with murder. He was later booked into the Imperial County Sheriff's Office Jail (ICJ), where he remains in custody on a $1,000,000.00 bail.
Additionally Calexico Chronicle reported of a GoFundMe page started by Sergio S Favela where he states "Hello, On 4/20/24 my sister Sandy was tragically taken from us. She was a wonderful mother and daughter. She was hardworking and a beautiful person inside and out. She leaves behind her 16 year old daughter, a 5 year old son and an 8 month old son. We are asking for any help and/or donations for the cost of her services and for her children. Anything is greatly appreciated. We want to thank everyone who has reached out and given support. Thank you in advance."
