Spot 805 and Yulil Alonso-Garza host a community event to GET OUT THE VOTE

On February 4th, 2024, Yulil Alonso-Garza and Spot 805 collaborated to organize a campaign event aimed at promoting voter engagement and awareness. The event featured a car show, art exhibition, and various musical performances, including a Selena tribute, Mariachi Acero, Los Originales Continentales, DJ Lex, DJ Jedi, and Pure Majik.

Additionally, the event included balloons by Sasha, a fundraiser for the Frankie Chavez scholarship, Luna and associates and a group of children painting art that was later auctioned off.

In an interview, Yulil Alonso-Garza explained that the event aimed to generate interest in the primary elections, challenging the perception that elections only happen in November. The goal was to increase voter turnout and civic participation.

Spot 805, owned by Josh Loroña, served as the venue for the event. Loroña stated that the establishment was created to provide a space for community gatherings and events, addressing a perceived lack of engaging activities in the area.

Looking ahead, Yulil Alonso-Garza mentioned plans for a similar event on October 6, 2024. The event, while diverse in its offerings, was primarily a strategic move to encourage community participation in the electoral process.
