Smiley Warrior Corporation's hosts Lucha Libra Fundraiser benefiting kids with cancer in the Valley

On Saturday, February 24, Cafecito bar in Brawley played host to an event organized by Claudia Pineda, owner of the establishment, under the newly-formed Smiley Warrior Corporation. This nonprofit, initiated on February 20, 2024, sought to address financial challenges faced by families dealing with childhood cancer—a cause that had been a personal ambition for the Pineda family since 2010.

The event featured various vendors and showcased the talents of about 10 wrestlers, Attendees witnessed an evening of entertainment while contributing to a cause that transcended the superficial appeal of the gathering.

Claudia Pineda, shared the family's experience dealing with their son's leukemia diagnosis in 2007, a journey that involved three years of chemotherapy and frequent trips to San Diego. Pineda underscored the financial strains associated with such circumstances and explained the foundation's purpose—to assist local families with cancer treatment transportation expenses.

Pineda expressed gratitude to attendees, vendors, and wrestlers for their support, highlighting the collective effort to assist families in the community. The fundraiser marked the initial steps of Smiley Warrior Corporation in its mission to aid families facing the challenges of childhood cancer, focusing on pragmatic assistance rather than emotional resonance. The event served as a community-centric affair, emphasizing the importance of local support in achieving the foundation's objectives.
