Last week, an ECPD K-9 Officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. What seemed like a routine procedure quickly escalated when K-9 Jax, a highly trained canine officer, detected something suspicious during a vehicle sniff.

Upon investigation, K-9 Jax signaled a positive alert, prompting officers to conduct a thorough search of the vehicle. The search yielded a staggering 131 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $847,362.
