Calipatria Foundation's Second Annual Fireworks Spectacular Lights Up skies the Fourth of July

The Calipatria Foundation hosted its second annual Fireworks Spectacular, drawing an impressive crowd of approximately 3,000 attendees. This year’s event, held on a warm summer evening, not only lit up the night sky but also brought the community together in a celebration of local spirit and generosity.

The event, now in its second year, has quickly become a beloved tradition in Calipatria. Spectators of all ages gathered to enjoy a dazzling display of fireworks, symbolizing the community’s unity and shared joy. The Calipatria Foundation, a nonprofit organization established on May 1, 2023, proudly organized the event, underscoring its commitment to fostering community engagement and support.

The Fireworks Spectacular was made possible thanks to the generous contributions of numerous local sponsors. Independence Sponsors included Bloom to Box Crop Care, Inc. and Berkshire Hathaway Energy, whose support played a pivotal role in the event's success.

Adding to the festive atmosphere were a diverse array of vendors offering a range of foods, crafts, and activities. Attendees enjoyed delicious fare from T&F Tacos, The Three Brothers, Antonio's Baja Catch, and more. Other vendors included Kidz Party Pals, Stylez by Serenity, and Los Amigos de la Comunidad, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The tradition of fireworks in Calipatria dates back to 1937, as traced by the Pioneer Museum. “At the Calipatria Fire Department, there are albums of the annual pancake breakfast from the 60's, 70's and 80's where proceeds went to the firework show” Lourdes Jasso, Founder/President of the Calipatria foundation stated, This rich history adds a layer of nostalgia and pride to the current celebrations.

The Calipatria Foundation continues to build on this legacy, aiming to make each year’s Fireworks Spectacular bigger and better. As the foundation grows, so too does its ability to bring the community together and create lasting memories. With strong community support and a dedicated team, the future of the Fireworks Spectacular looks brighter than ever.
