Jaylene Terrazas, more professionally, known as Jay Roxxx, was born on October 4, 2002, in El Centro, California, and she is now 21. Her music, a blend of pop, R&B, and hip-hop, gained over 8.7 million streams on Spotify last year. Reflecting her Chicano heritage and California roots, her songs explore themes like self-discovery and empowerment, delivered with a passionate voice.

Her musical journey began during a seventh-grade talent show where she performed a Whitney Houston song. It was at this moment that her dad, Freddy, realized she had the potential to be something big. Jay Roxxx started singing at the age of 7, and she went professional at 14, inspired by XXXTentacion. Despite not knowing Spanish, MC Magic changed that. MC magic and Jaylene met at the imperial county midwinter fair a couple years before getting signed, years later, Jay Roxxx sang on his Instagram Live, catching his attention she says that one of the main reasons he accepted her into the life was because of her Instagram username “antisocialextroverrt” and it’s unique characteristics. Freddy Terrazas her father/manager, emailed Nasty Boy Records but with no response, but at 18, she was signed to nasty boy records by MC Magic moving forward

She released the album “Princesa,” showcasing different genres. The track “I Belong to You” with Lil Rob was a tribute to her grandfather, who passed away on the Fourth of July of 2020. The pandemic gave her time to focus on music, collaborating more with MC Magic. She aims to show that hard work pays off, breaking stereotypes in the music industry.

In an interview, Jay Roxxx talks about her inspirations, particularly XXXTentacion. She transitioned from melancholic styles to becoming a versatile artist influenced by MC Magic. Collaborations, like with Lil Rob, and future plans are discussed. Her TikTok journey is mentioned, acknowledging the platform’s role in her rise to fame despite facing online negativity.

Aside from music, Jay Roxxx has two siblings, a younger brother, and a sister who designs clothes for FB Country, gaining recognition in Zumiez nationwide. The Terrazas family is making waves in their respective fields, each carving their path.

Exciting plans for her music career include two upcoming singles tentatively scheduled for release in January or February. While an album release later this year isn’t confirmed, she expresses the possibility, keeping fans eagerly anticipating what’s to come.

Furthermore, Jay Roxxx shared valuable advice to aspiring artists, stating, “Have a solid team because without a solid team, that’s ultimately going to be a downfall.” She believes that without a strong support system, it can ultimately lead to a downfall in the challenging music industry.

Jaylene also states that one of her favorite songs was her song “superstars” because it has a lot of meaning to it and she was going through a lot when she made the song she states, here’s an exclusive statement that she gave 760 news a couple months back

Exclusive statement given directly to 760 news

"I wrote this song on accident not gonna lie. It started off as my producer and I just messing around with the instrumental, then I ended up writing an actual hook.

We both agreed that it had potential but after working on it for about an hour or 2, i had nothing. I told him I was just gonna sell it to a rapper or something...

but after some time of thinking, we went back to the song and 1 started spitting a verse. I remember around that time..

i was super stressed out with tour and the trajectory of my career.. i was not in a good mental state, and my lyrics heavily reflect that. I'm not a rapper and I make that very clear to everyone, I just kinda do it for fun because all of my favorite artists happen to be rappers. My producer & my friends were hyping me up meanwhile, and I started to feel really comfortable with my flow and my voice so we eventually ended up finishing the song." - quote from Jay Roxxx's

Furthermore, Jaylene has brought new talent into the imperial valley with her music and is a true reminder that anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it and that no matter where you come from big or small you can do anything as long as you don’t give up
