Suspected Drug Dealer Arrested in Calexico with Methamphetamine and Outstanding Warrant

CALEXICO, CA – A suspected drug dealer was taken into custody after alert officers observed suspicious activity in the downtown area early Friday morning. Manuel J. Aguirre, 69, was arrested on August 2, 2024, at approximately 0600 hours.

The arrest was made by a field training officer (FTO) and his trainee from the Calexico Police Department. The officers were on patrol when they noticed Aguirre’s suspicious behavior and decided to investigate further. Upon contact, they discovered over 88 grams of suspected methamphetamine and confirmed Aguirre had an outstanding arrest warrant.

This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by the Calexico Police Department to combat drug trafficking and enhance public safety. The department commended the quick thinking and thoroughness of the FTO and his trainee in making the arrest.
