Shooting Incident Leaves Two Injured in Brawley, Police Investigate

Brawley, CA - On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at approximately 09:30 PM, the Brawley Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call in reference to multiple gunshots in the area of South Imperial Ave and Malan St. A short time later, Officers were notified that there were two gunshot victims at Pioneers Memorial Hospital.

Both victims were treated for their injuries and are expected to make a full recovery. Based on the preliminary investigation and evidence collected, the incident appears to be a targeted attack.

Commander Jonathan Blackstone of the Brawley Police Department provided details on the unfolding investigation, stating, “During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the shooting occurred between two vehicles.” Fortunately, both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received prompt medical attention.
