Shooting Incident at Chevron Gas Station in Brawley Leaves one Brawley man Injured.
Brawley, CA January 25, 2025 - A shooting at the Chevron gas station on the 900 block of Main Street in Brawley has left a 21-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred at approximately 7:19 PM on Saturday evening, when the Brawley Police Department communications center received a 911 call reporting the shooting in the parking lot area.
The caller indicated that the victim had been injured by gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located the victim, identified as a 21-year-old male Brawley resident. Emergency responders quickly administered care before airlifting the victim to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The victim, who sustained injuries in several areas of his body, is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive according to a press release. Authorities have not yet released additional information regarding the circumstances of the shooting.
Two blocks of Main Street were blocked off from N Palm Avenue all the way to S. 19th St. and drivers were diverted to alternative routes because of the incident.
A witness at the scene, who wished to remain anonymous, told 760 News that they observed two individuals involved in an altercation before the 21-year-old man was seen running. According to the witness, the victim was shot in the back as he fled. The witness also mentioned that several people, who were waiting in line at a street taco stand parked nearby which wasrecently vandalized days earlier in front of Brawley Liquor began scattering as gunfire rang out.
The Brawley Police Department Investigation Team has taken over the case and is actively working to determine the events surrounding the incident. The team is thoroughly examining evidence and following up on leads in an effort to identify those responsible.
