House Fire in Salton City Claims Lives of Several Dogs

SALTON CITY, Calif. - A house fire in Salton City claimed the lives of several dogs. The Imperial County Fire Department reported that the one-story house caught fire Tuesday evening.

Firefighters say the homeowner reported that the fire began in her office. “Well right away one of the first things that was mentioned was that the owner had dogs in her house so we attended to put out the fire. Unfortunately, we had [several] dogs that perished in that fire,” said Battalion Fire Chief Christian Guzman. The house sustained significant damage due to the fire according to kyma.com

The Red Cross has provided assistance to the homeowner, Destiny Raw Morgan, who lost everything in the blaze, including the dogs she owned and fostered. Morgan is known in the community for rescuing abandoned and sick dogs. To support her in rebuilding her life, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up, emphasizing her significant contributions to the community and urging residents to help during this difficult time.

Donations can be made through the GoFundMe page.
