Honor Health Sciences Celebrates Second Graduating Class of Nurses

On October 4, 2024, Honor Health Sciences, the first private nursing school in Imperial Valley, proudly celebrated the graduation of its second cohort of nursing students. This milestone marked the end of an intense journey for the graduates, capping two years of dedication and hard work in a program designed to quickly prepare them for the demands of the healthcare field.

Honor Health Sciences, which opened its doors in 2022, offers the only accelerated one-year nursing program in Imperial County, drawing significant interest from local aspiring healthcare professionals. The school’s mission to provide high-quality nursing education in an expedited format has been met with enthusiasm, and Friday’s ceremony was another testament to the school’s growing reputation.

In his speech to the graduating class, Dr. Jeffrey Chan, the founder and president of Honor Health Sciences, reflected on the significance of the day. “As I looked out at the sea of faces before me, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. These were the graduates of our nursing program, ready to embark on their journey as healthcare professionals,” Dr. Chan said. “Their resilience and commitment to their education over the past year has been nothing short of inspiring.”

The program, which combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience, has quickly become a cornerstone of nursing education in the region. Local healthcare facilities have eagerly supported the initiative, recognizing the critical need for well-trained nurses in the area.

The ceremony was an emotional event, filled with speeches from both faculty and students, celebrating not only the graduates’ achievements but also the school’s role in strengthening healthcare in the Imperial Valley.

With this second graduating class, Honor Health Sciences continues to fulfill its mission of producing highly skilled nurses who are ready to enter the workforce and meet the growing demands of the healthcare industry.

Graduates of the program will now move on to careers in various healthcare settings, from local hospitals to specialized care centers.
