El Centro Man in Critical Condition following Stabbing Incident in Brawley

Brawley, Calif.— A man from El Centro is reportedly in critical condition following a stabbing incident that occurred Friday morning in Brawley.

According to a press release from the Brawley Police Department (BPD), officers responded to a call at approximately 8:30 a.m. regarding a man suffering from multiple stab wounds in the area of C Street and Eastern Avenue. Upon arrival, the victim was found and quickly transported via air ambulance to an out-of-county hospital for further treatment.

As of the latest updates from BPD, the man remains in critical condition. The identity of the victim has not yet been released to the public.

The Brawley Police Department is actively investigating the incident. In a separate event later that day, at 5:22 p.m., a 20-year-old man named Rudy Sanchez was arrested on C Street for charges including attempted murder, conspiracy to commit a crime, and accessory after the fact. While Sanchez's arrest raises questions, authorities have not confirmed whether his apprehension is directly related to the stabbing, Sanchez is currently being held in Imperial County Jail on $1 million bail, According to The Calexico Chronicle.
