Calexico Fire Department Awarded nearly $50,000 from T-Mobile Hometown Grant for Fire Hose Technology Upgrade

CALEXICO, Calif. – The Calexico Fire Department (CFD) is set to enhance its firefighting capabilities after receiving a nearly $50,000 grant from T-Mobile’s Hometown Grant program. This funding will be used to install advanced fire hose technology, allowing firefighters to deliver more water with less resistance, improving response efforts and safety.

Calexico was one of 25 communities across the U.S. selected for this round of Hometown Grants, which provide financial support for local projects aimed at revitalizing small towns and rural areas. Since launching in 2021, the program has awarded over $16 million to 375 communities nationwide.

“When we started Hometown Grants nearly four years ago, we knew T-Mobile could make a real difference in small towns across the country, but the impact has exceeded all expectations,” said Jon Freier, President of T-Mobile’s Consumer Group. “With this latest round of grants, communities will be able to fund everything from new fire hose technology to expanded food pantry space — creating important, life-changing improvements for the people who call these towns home.”

T-Mobile’s Hometown Grant program, in partnership with Main Street America, continues to provide crucial funding for rural communities across the nation. The grants help local leaders invest in meaningful projects that improve quality of life and create lasting economic and social benefits.
