Big Boys BBQ Wins first place at 2024 Imperial Valley Invitational Brisket Cook-off

Brawley CA - In a sizzling showdown at the fifth annual Imperial Valley Invitational Brisket Cook-off in Brawley on Saturday, Jan. 20, Big Boys BBQ emerged victorious, claiming the coveted "Championship Brisket" trophy. The BBQ maestros not only secured the top brisket honors but also clinched the People's Choice and Best Booth prizes, showcasing their culinary prowess and overall presentation.

Despite overcast skies, the event drew early crowds eager to savor and judge the slow-cooked meat delights that had been smoking on the Plaza in Brawley since the predawn hours. Hosted by the Brawley Cattle Call Rodeo Queen Association, and organized with the support of The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Brawley, the cook-off was made possible through sponsorship from One World Beef.

As the aroma of brisket filled the air, attendees indulged in a breakfast feast featuring hearty beef brisket served with coleslaw, beans, and a roll for $15. The festivities extended beyond the culinary realm, offering a diverse range of activities. Live entertainment, line dancing, and a petting zoo delighted attendees, creating a family-friendly atmosphere. Vendors added to the experience, offering snacks, drinks, and an array of items, from handmade hairbrushes adorned with Disney characters to other unique finds.
