62 year old Man Passes Away While Awaiting Medical Services Calexico Port of Entry
CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - A somber incident unfolded at the Calexico Port of Entry, as a man tragically lost his life while awaiting the opportunity to cross into the U.S. for medical services.
The Calexico Police Department reported that the 62-year-old man, accompanied by a friend, had been patiently waiting in their vehicle for over an hour, hoping to make their way into Calexico. As their turn approached at the border booth, a distressing situation emerged.
According to Calexico police, the Calexico Fire Department was swiftly summoned to the scene, where they valiantly attempted to revive the victim through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Cpl. Cynthia Fraker of the Calexico Police Department shared, “I then made contact with the driver of the vehicle who said that while they were in line he believed that the subject was asleep in his vehicle. As they approached the booth, he tried to wake him up, and the subject did not respond.”
